Join us for a one-hour whirlwind presentation that travels from the very beginning of board game history to the modern age of tabletop gaming. We’ll go from Chess to Monopoly to Catan and beyond all while explaining the key differences between games today and those in the past.
We’ll also throw out some random factoids about some of your favorites games. Like where to find a Scrabble street sign in Queens, how a popular children’s game relates to Hindu philosophy, and what a French film director has to do with Risk.
After the talk you’re invited to join Victory Pints in the main room of Berg’n for a open game night that lasts till 11 PM. This game night is open to all and is free (with a two drink minimum or equivalent for participants.) There will be a large selection of modern board games available to play, but you’re also welcome to bring your own if you have a copy of Catan or Ticket to Ride or other favorite board game laying around!
Our talk begins at 7pm in the private room at Berg'n, but feel free to come early to grab food or drinks from their awesome selection!
